Hands-On Coaching Toward Independent Horsemanship

Within United Mustangs of America, students learn to think clearly with horses — not just ride them. Our work focuses on developing real understanding, confident decision-making, and long-term skill that carries into every horse and every situation.

Through hands-on coaching and thoughtful guidance, students grow awareness, timing, balance, communication, and discernment through real-world horse interactions. This approach builds horsemanship that lasts, rather than quick fixes or surface-level instruction.

How Coaching Works

All new students begin with orientation inside Horse Handling Science United (HHSU) — our learning and coaching platform. Orientation introduces how we work, covers safety essentials, explains scheduling and expectations, and prepares students to get the most from hands-on coaching.

Once orientation is complete, students are guided through scheduling in-person sessions based on individual goals, experience, and availability.

Enrollment Pathways

Self-Pay Students (Standard Path)

  1. Start with a free 7-day HHSU orientation trial
  2. This gives you access to orientation modules and helps you understand how we coach.
  3. Complete orientation in HHSU
  4. Most people complete it over several days to about one week.
  5. Unlock scheduling for hands-on coaching
  6. Once orientation is complete, you can schedule in-person coaching sessions.

Heartland Charter School Families

  1. Contact Monica first
  2. Confirm availability and coordinate a start date.
  3. Submit your Heartland enrichment order
  4. Once you have a certificate from the school, forward it to us.
  5. Receive your HHSU access link
  6. Heartland students get a special HHSU access link that includes orientation.
  7. Complete HHSU orientation
  8. Begin hands-on coaching

Some families choose to begin with self-pay while waiting for Heartland processing. We can transition your account to Heartland once funding is approved.

Hands-On Coaching

Starting at $320/month
This monthly coaching includes:

  • scheduled hands-on coaching sessions
  • guided learning and feedback in HHSU
  • thoughtful development at your pace

(Because students are in different seasons of life and budgets, HHSU offers both monthly and discounted yearly options. Most students start with monthly.)

Horse Lab Add-On

Available for riders who want extended practice beyond normal coaching sessions.
Pricing available inside HHSU once orientation is complete.

HHSU provides:

HHSU Membership

  • $29.99/month
  • or $19.99/month when paid annually

Hands-On Coaching

  • $320/month

Most students begin with monthly HHSU membership and transition to annual later if it makes sense for them.

Both options appear during sign-up so you can choose what fits best.

When you begin orientation, you’ll be asked to choose an HHSU membership option (monthly or discounted yearly). This supports your learning and communication throughout the program.

Hands-on coaching begins after orientation is complete.
